Pull on your walking boots, pack your water bottle, and get ready to explore one of Herefordshire’s best-kept secrets: the annual Ross-on-Wye Walking Festival. It’s back from 26th to 28th September 2025 and is the perfect way to bid farewell to summer (and hello to seriously stunning countryside).
Just 20 minutes from Lucksall Holiday Park, Ross-on-Wye is an accredited ‘Walkers Are Welcome’ town. And with over 50 years of footpath-friendly heritage and a cracking community spirit, this is a weekend that combines adventure with beauty and peace.
Whether you’re a seasoned rambler or just fancy a gentle amble with a great view (and an even better pub at the end), there’s something for everyone.
From short, accessible ‘Miles Without Stiles’ routes to longer hikes that trace the iconic Wye Valley Walk, every activity is led by friendly locals brimming with knowledge and enthusiasm.
Expect everything from heritage trails and nature walks to quirky themed strolls and hidden gems you’d never find without a guide. Most walks are just £5 to book – unless there’s a bonus included (like cider tasting or afternoon tea!).
The festival prides itself on its relaxed and friendly approach, but there are, of course, a few rules to follow. (And walk leaders reserve the right to turn away those who arrive unprepared).
After a day of walking wildflower meadows or riverside trails, Lucksall Holiday Park is the perfect place to rest, refuel, and reset. And then do it all again tomorrow.
Rest your legs after a long day. We’re just a short drive from Ross-on-Wye with peaceful pitches and countryside calm to match your scenic adventures.
Book your stay at Lucksall now and discover Herefordshire – one step at a time.
