A Day in the Country: Livestock, Local Goods and More at Kington Show

There’s something truly special about a countryside show. And Kington Horse Show & Agricultural Society delivers it all in one jam-packed day.

Taking place on Saturday 13^th September from 9am – 6pm at The Ovals Farm (HR5 3LN), this is the largest one-day agricultural event in Herefordshire.

Horses, Horticulture & Heaps of Fun

From elegant show jumpers to prize-winning livestock, the showground will be buzzing with competitions championing the very best in rural life. Plus, there’s vintage vehicles, live bands, and a Grand Parade.

But it’s not all livestock and rosettes, there’s also a whole load of exciting displays, including:

• Shearing
• Motorcycles
• Axemen
• Falconry
• Ferrets
• Parkour
• Exotic animals.

With over 100 trade stands, a food and craft marquee, and a licensed bar, it’s as much a celebration of local makers and producers as it is of agriculture.

Plus, kids (and big kids) can conquer the towering 7.3-metre climbing wall, participate in the adrenaline-pumping shooting simulator, and enjoy a bouncy inflatable play area.

Tickets are available on the gate: £15 for adults, £7 for teens (aged 10-17), and free for under 10s. From mid-August, advance passes are available locally with a small concession.

There’s free parking available, with a regular shuttle bus from Kington Primary School. And well-behaved dogs on leads are also welcome to attend.

Run entirely by volunteers, this is a real community celebration with something for everyone.
