Lucksall is perfectly situated on the banks of the River Wye, providing a great place for canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding.
From the Caravan Park there are two access points down to the River Wye both with a floating pontoon (depending on the time of the Season).
If you have your own Canoe or Kayak, why not bring your own? You are welcome to use the pontoons during your stay to land or launch as you wish. We don't recommend traveling past the bottom pontoon due to the strong currents making paddling back up stream very difficult. instead we recommend paddling up river from Lucksall, approx. 1/2 mile up steam is where the small River Lugg meets the River Wye. Depending on equipment and skill level it is possible to travel up the Lugg or continue up the Wye.
The River Wye is full of wildlife from Dragonflies, Otters, Swans, Kingfisher, herons and much more. What will you see?
Canoeing, Kayaking, Paddle boarding enables you to discover the beauty of the Wye Valley in an Area of outstanding Natural Beauty in a peaceful , relaxing and ever changing setting.
Whilst the River Wye is such a beautiful river caution should be taken at all times especially with children.
If you don't have your own canoe you can hire from an external company.
